In 2018, only 19% of higher education students studying computer science and technology in the UK were female.

However, jobs in these areas are growing at a rapid rate.

One reason that women haven’t pursued careers in computing and technology is that they lack female role models.

But the recent boom in Femtech is changing that… 

Female coders, scientists and engineers are coming together to make products, apps and digital services tailored for women’s needs. 

Of the estimated 200 Femtech startups in the world, 92% were founded and are led by women.

Not only is Femtech serving women’s needs, it’s also opening up job opportunities in growth areas where females have been traditionally under-represented.
