Nicole Junkermann presents an A-Z of Femtech: E = Endometriosis

Nicole Junkermann, NJF Capital founder, presents the next video in the series ‘an A-Z of Femtech’ – a selection of short videos focused on key areas of interest in this hugely topical and consequential field.

While femtech has largely focused on fertility issues, the industry is now shifting to taboo subjects like menopause and endometriosis.

Despite affecting one in 10 women – the same number of people as diabetes – endometriosis has received significantly less funding.

Endometriosis is an extremely painful condition where tissue that normally lines the womb starts growing on the outside.

It’s a longterm disease that can occur at any age and make it difficult for women to get pregnant.

Startups in this area are exploring how endometriosis can be better diagnosed and managed, with smart tampons for example.

By tackling debilitating health conditions that have previously been ignored, Femtech can dramatically improve the quality of women’s lives.
